2.12.11 “Baseball 101″ Clinic Supports Church Youth Programs

We love bragging about our instructors! Last week, Van Smith held a baseball clinic for youngsters ages 7-12 to get a head start to their seasons. All of the proceeds from this event went to support the youth programs at First United Presbyterian Church.

The clinic kicked off with an energetic speed and agility warm up from Turn 2 Instructor, Allie Park. Following the warm up, the day focused on throwing mechanics and drills, fielding technique, pitching fundamentals, and of course softball and baseball life lessons. Other "instructors" from Turn 2 that you may know by name were Elliot Kinney and Reid McClain. Dawn McClain also assisted by keeping the athletes moving and rotating between stations.

Coach Smith and his team of instructors' most important lesson of the day was teaching the young athletes why it is so critical for the  parent, child, and the coach to have similar goals. The athletes had a blast, and the proceeds went to a great cause!
