      GEARS WORK WITH A PURPOSE
At Turn 2 we want actions to be completed with a purpose. The quality of repetition far exceeds the quantity of doing them. Every action completed should have a  a purpose with a goal in mind

      GEARS HAVE FUNDAMENTAL STRUCTURE
At Turn 2 we avoid style and instead focus on the importance of the fundamentals. All athletes must put their body in a structurally sound position, building a fundamental base assures consistency.

About the Blog

In this blog, you can follow my accounts of re-entering the workout regimen of an athlete looking to compete at a high level. My Coach and training partner is Brian Jovick of Athletix Factory Strength & Conditioning. You can follow Coach Jovick's account of our training at Jovick Trained.blogspot.com.

I want to put myself through what the athletes at our facility go through and train competitively like they train. So, you see I am getting back into the trenches

Background Before You Begin Your Journey

Here's some background about me before you begin your journey reading my blog and latest experiences.

I grew up in Southern Illinois in the small town of Nashville.  I am lucky in the sense that I found my passion in life at a very young age.  The game of softball has taught me some important life lessons throughout my playing days.  Adversity, teamwork, and leadership are just a few of the life lessons I took away from the game.

As a shortstop at SIUC, I was blessed to be a part of a team that was very special.  The time spent at SIUC not only revived my collegiate career but it gave me a team to fight for, a team to work for, and a coaching staff to run through a wall for.  Some of the life's lessons I took away from my time at SIUC have continued with my business. I opened Turn 2, a baseball and softball training facility located in Collinsville IL in October of 2007.
